Seward to Palmer, Alaska

This will be a short blog today since we only traveled 255 km and all of it was over road already traveled.
The weather was pleasant with mixed sun and cloud and the only thing worth noting is the moose grazing beside the highway.
We drove up the Seward highway to Anchorage where we stopped at Novus to see if they could fix the crack in our windshield. The stone bruise we received on Friday has spread up about 6 inches and down about 8 inches so they are unable to repair it. We'll need to replace the windshield once we get home. I'll try to register a claim with our insurance company tonight on-line. Fortunately we've got glass coverage with a $100 deductible.
We also bought groceries and fuel before leaving Anchorage.
After Anchorage, we drove a bit North then West on the Glen Highway and went as far as Palmer where we checked into the Heritage RV Park for the night. I was pleasantly surprised to find they are a Passport America Park so with our membership, we got a nice full-hookup site for only $16.50!
We fed the dogs, did three loads of laundry then I cooked some of our halibut for supper. It was delicious! Being frozen hadn't hurt it a bit.
It was nice to hear from our youngest daughter, Jessica, today. She made a point of telling me that she and her boyfriend are looking forward to coming over for a halibut supper when we get home. That will be nice, but won't be happening for about two more months.
We are starting to work our way out of Alaska now (kind of sad about that) but we'll be spending a month or so on Vancouver Island before heading for home in mid-September.
Tomorrow we might make it as far as Valdez, although, we aren't in a big rush so if we see somewhere to stop at before then, we will!
