Bison and Signposts

We got a late start today because we slept in until after 8:00. With our windows blacked out and no power, we didn’t realize how late it was!

We saw four huge bison beside the highway today, grazing on the grass in the ditches. Thankfully they weren’t actually on it! There were several horse similarly grazing at one point, too. Not sure if they’re wild or not but probably are.

We stopped for a couple of hours in Watson Lake where we saw the ‘signpost forest’, and displays and a film in the Visitor Centre. The signpost forest has over 67,000 signs with more being added every day.

We intended to view the multimedia show at the Northern Lights Centre, but just missed the 1:00 p.m. viewing and didn’t want to hang around for the 6:30 p.m. show. So, we headed on up the road to Mile 721 and the Continental Divide RV park. They advertised free RV wash, internet and a laundromat - all things we were badly needing so this became home for the night We also enjoyed a delicious dinner in their restaurant cooked by ‘Anna’ who is from Mazatlan, MX (and returns there every winter).
