We pulled away from our home in Regina, SK at 8:50 a.m. This was an early start for us, considering all the last-minute tasks required to close up the house. We were really excited about getting started on our long-awaited trip but also a little sad to be leaving family and friends once again. Also, our yard was just getting really nice and green, with the perennials showing promise of being particularly nice this year.
There was very little wind and without our tow car behind, the motorhome sailed quite happily along all day and we put 712 km on before stopping for the night in Camrose, AB. We took this route (#14/#13) so we could see friends on our way north. Ken and his son, Stephen, joined us for supper and a nice visit afterward.
We spent the night in the Camrose Walmart parking lot. An excellent stopping place with numerous stores and restaurants nearby and no mud for the cairns to get into!
